When I originally wrote this first Pro-Pose blog in 2019, we had already been part of more than 300 weddings, parties and corporate events. Today, that figure has grown to over a thousand occasions across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
That experience means I can confidently answer one question: why should you hire a photo booth?
It brings people together
A photo booth gives guests a natural reason to mix. Friends, relatives and colleagues who may not know one another particularly well soon find themselves choosing props, squeezing into the same photograph and laughing together.
At weddings, the booth creates a focal point as the evening reception begins. It helps bring daytime and evening guests together and provides entertainment alongside the music and dance floor.
Guests can relax
Formal photographs are an important part of any wedding or celebration, but a photo booth captures a completely different side of the occasion.
Once guests step in front of the camera, they tend to relax. People strike ridiculous poses, gather relatives they have not seen for years and create the kind of spontaneous photographs that would be difficult to plan.
As we have always said, what happens in the booth stays in the booth, although the photographs usually provide some fairly strong evidence afterwards.
Everyone can get involved
One of the best things about a photo booth is that there is no particular age group required to enjoy it.
We have welcomed children, grandparents and every generation in between. At one event, a 92-year-old guest enjoyed the booth so much that we struggled to persuade her to leave it. She had never experienced anything like it and was completely hooked.
It provides proper printed keepsakes
Guests do not simply take photographs and forget about them. Everyone appearing in a picture can receive a professionally printed copy to take home.
Pro-Pose bookings include unlimited visits and prints throughout the booth hire. Couples and event organisers also receive access to an online gallery containing high-resolution copies of the photographs.
Depending on the chosen package, the images can also be collected in a traditional guestbook during the event or turned into a professionally designed hardback photo book afterwards.
It adds to the party atmosphere
A photo booth should never feel like an unattended machine placed in the corner of a room.
The Pro-Pose attendant looks after the booth and encourages guests to become involved. That energy helps create the atmosphere around it and ensures people enjoy the experience rather than simply pressing a screen and walking away.
It captures moments you might otherwise miss
Couples cannot be everywhere during their wedding, and organisers rarely see every part of a party or corporate event.
The online gallery often reveals brilliant interactions that happened elsewhere in the room: friendship groups reunited, relatives laughing together and colleagues showing a completely different side of their personalities.
The photographs provide a genuine record of how guests experienced the occasion.
Quality makes a difference
Not every photo booth produces the same standard of photograph.
Every Pro-Pose booth uses a professional DSLR camera, flattering studio lighting and professional dye-sublimation printing. This creates natural skin tones, sharp details and proper photographs that still look brilliant years later.
We also design a bespoke print template for every booking, allowing the finished prints to complement your wedding invitations, colour scheme, celebration theme or company branding.
After more than a thousand weddings and events, the answer remains simple. A great photo booth provides entertainment, atmosphere, proper printed photographs and memories that continue long after the occasion has finished.
